Have you ever heard from Kruger Park?

Last year I had the chance to visit The Kruger Park in South Africa. This is a rich natural and cultural park full of animals and beautiful scenes.  It extends across two of South Africa’s 9 provinces, the Limpopo and the Mpumalanga provinces and covers over 19 455 km2 and is 350 kilometres long from north to south and 60 kilometres wide from east to west. The entire eastern boundary of the reserve is located on the border of Mozambique while its northern border is formed by the Limpopo River and the border of South Africa and Zimbabwe.

It was founded by Paul Kruger, and it has a loving memorial in his name and those who have upheld his vision of a protected wilderness reserve.
This park host what is known as “The Big Five”, this means the big five animals. These are the elephant, leopard, lion, rhinoceros and buffalo. You can find them in the park but it is not always easy to spot them. There are many other animals and birds around the park such as impala, monkeys, hippopotamus, eagles, zebras, owls, cheetah, waterbuck and many others.

Inside the parks there are many rivers and waterholes where you can find the animals drinking water. There are many places to go, where you can get amazing views and spot animals.
You can stay inside the park in camps, there are 14 different camps to stay and each one is different. Each one has special features like museums, recreations areas and restaurants.

Inside the park there are many different rules, you can not go down of your car for any reason; neither get your windows down. The speed limit is 50 km/hr, this is to prevent any accident with the animals because they are wild, you are the one that is invading their space, not them. The door of each camp has a specific hour to open and close. You can’t feed the animals, pets are not allowed, there are other ones but this are the main ones.
The park works in the saving of the white Rhino, that is in danger. There are not many white rhinos left in Africa, 50 or 60, but not more. If you spot one in the park you are really lucky. It sell in all the stores things such as bracelets to save money for the rhine cause.
